POLICY & SERVICE AGREEMENT
Maid Affordable Policy & Service Agreement
Please review the policies below so we can provide a smooth, consistent service experience.
Important: When an acknowledgment checkbox is included in our forms, checking the box and submitting confirms agreement to this Policy & Service Agreement. If you book by phone, text, or email, agreement is confirmed when service is scheduled or provided.
Terms of Service
Payment
A form of payment must be placed on file and payment is due prior to or at the time of service.
ACH is our preferred method of payment, however we also accept credit cards.
Any balance past due is subject to a 5% late fee. If your account is sent to a collection agency, you will be responsible for collection fees charged by the collection agency for handling past due payment.
Cancellation & Rescheduling
To avoid fees, we require notice of at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.
- When 24 to 48 hours notice is given, a 30% cancellation fee will apply.
- When less than 24 hours notice is given, a 50% cancellation fee will apply.
We understand that things come up, tend to be very reasonable, and do not like fees. We will work hard to replace your appointment with another, and when we are able to do so, we will gladly waive fees.
Friday Afternoon & Weekend Changes: If you submit cancellations or schedule changes on a Friday for a Monday appointment, the 50% fee will apply due to limited time to replace your booked clean over the weekend. Again, we will waive the fee if another replacement is available.
Arrival Windows
When we have key, code, lockbox, or remote access to the home, our team member(s) will arrive between 8am and 2pm.
When we are meeting someone at your home, we will arrive for either an AM or PM appointment. AM arrival window is 8am to 10am. PM arrival window is 11am to 3pm.
More narrow arrival windows may be requested, and we will do our best to accommodate them when scheduling allows.
Access
Most of our clients are either at home or provide access via key, lockbox, door code, garage code, or remote access.
We offer free delivery of a lockbox for a one-time fee of $40.
If providing a code for door or garage access, we recommend using a code that is specific to our company when that is an option.
Cleaning Times
Rates given by phone are estimates based on the information provided at the time of quoting or booking.
Each cleaning is assigned a maximum cleaning time based on the service type, condition described, and scope discussed at booking.
In some cases, if we arrive and find that the service is much deeper than expected, we will contact you within the first hour to discuss options, which may include adjusting the scope of work for the allotted time or increasing the rate.
Pets
All of our staff are pet friendly and we love pets.
Even the friendliest pets may bite when startled or uncomfortable with strangers in the home. Please secure pets (for example, kennel, backyard, or room with closed door) while we are in the home.
Gratuity
Tipping is not expected, but is appreciated for a job well done.
Tips may be paid by cash, check, credit card, Venmo, or PayPal.
Recurring Rates
Because we do not require cleaning contracts binding you to a specific number of cleans, you may add, skip, or change your cleaning rotation. Cancellation and rescheduling fees may still apply based on the notice provided for a scheduled appointment.
Rates are subject to change at any time, and annual adjustments may be necessary to help us continue attracting and retaining top talent to clean your home.
If your agreed rotation changes, your rate may be adjusted to reflect that change. For example, if you scheduled biweekly service but skip a clean, your rate may change to the monthly rate due to the service occurring 4 weeks apart instead of 2.
Assigned Tech Requests
We work hard to honor requests for specific team members, however we cannot guarantee we will always send the same technician for your clean.
When your requested team member is out due to illness, vacation, family leave, or other circumstances, we will send a trusted team member who we feel is a similar fit for your home.
We will also communicate notes about your service and home to the substitute team member to help keep things running smoothly.
Number of Technicians
We work in teams of one or more.
How many team members we send is based on several factors, including the type of clean, job title or skill level, home location, recurrence, and scheduling needs.
Upon request, we will provide rates for a specific number of team members for every clean.
Holiday Closures
We are closed on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
If your clean falls on a day we are closed or have limited staff, we will contact you to discuss options for rescheduling.
Feedback
We seek feedback from our clients regularly via follow-up surveys and periodically by phone call.
We see feedback as a gift and train our staff to do the same.
Reviews, Referrals, and Social Sharing
We sincerely appreciate clients who take time to leave online reviews or share positive comments about Maid Affordable on social media.
From time to time, we may offer cleaning credits or other promotions as a thank-you for eligible reviews, referrals, or social media mentions, where permitted by platform rules.
Any such offers are optional, may change at any time, and may have specific terms or eligibility requirements communicated at the time of the offer.
Satisfaction Guarantee
We take your satisfaction seriously.
Please call us if you are not happy with any area of your clean, and we will correct problems reported within 48 hours.
Breakage / Loss
Maid Affordable works very hard to protect your belongings, however damage does periodically occur.
It is your responsibility to protect high-value items by securing or stowing them, or by pointing them out to the technician to avoid accidental damage. This includes antique, sentimental, and irreplaceable items.
We will attempt to repair or replace broken or damaged items up to $500 per loss.
If something is broken in your home, we will notify you.
Respect for Our Team / No Side Work
Please do not ask our cleaners to perform side work or hire them directly outside of Maid Affordable.
When you schedule through Maid Affordable, you are not only paying for a cleaning visit, you are also paying for the support behind it, including trained team members, the right tools and supplies, office support, scheduling help, and the flexibility of a full team when changes come up.
We also handle employer responsibilities so you do not have to, including payroll processing, payroll taxes, and business insurance coverage, while working hard to provide our team members with consistent and dependable income.
Our team members are also expected to follow company policies regarding side work and direct hiring.

Safety
- We do not clean or handle blood, urine, feces, vomit, or other bodily fluids in areas outside of toilets.
- We do not tolerate harassment in any form.
- We do not work in homes where drug use is occurring.
- We do not climb on counters, bunk beds, or any surfaces other than step ladders (maximum 2 steps, provided by you). If you let us know in advance about a high corner or hard-to-reach area, we will try to bring a tool that can safely reach it.
- We do not move furniture or items larger than 25 lbs, but will use our cleaning tools to reach beneath furniture when possible.
- We do not travel when roads are hazardous going to or from your home. If we expect an impact, we will notify you immediately.
Temperature
Like most of us, many clients have thermostats set to adjust during the day. Please bear in mind that it can be uncomfortable and inefficient for team members to clean when the temperature of a home is excessively hot or cold.
We work well in temperatures of 70 to 75 degrees.
Add-Ons
We would love to customize your clean.
If you have additional items you would like cleaned that are not listed as tasks on your scheduled service, please notify us in advance so we can provide rates and plan accordingly.
